The Bazaar by Jose Andres

Sunday night, my roommate took the Pad Fierce crew to The Bazaar, a tapas style dinner, at the SLS Hotel for our holiday dinner.

Needless to say there were explosions of yumminess and innovation in my mouth and tastes that I have never tasted before. It was AH-Mazing. I honestly can say everything that I have eaten today tastes so far like saw dust because of that dinner.

Not to mention, food always tastes better and is more enjoyable when the company is awesome in itself.

We ate in what is known as the "Rojo" (red) room, which is set up as a more casual, tapas style, with benches as chairs and dark wood picnic-esque tables.

Talk about explosions in mouth, I've never had a Caprese quite like this. The mozzarella ball literally explodes in your mouth letting out yummy mozzarella liquid- it's made with a special "Spherication" technique. I don't know what in hell that means-I just read it in a food blog and thought that sounded awe-some. The point is to have it all in one bite: the tomato, mozzarella with the sauce and air crouton. Destruction.

I love cotton candy and it's not like I eat foie gras every day but who knew the two would taste soooo good together. Just like two peas in a pod, it was meant to be. It's foie gras on a stick with cotton candy enveloping all around it. And you have to put the whole thing in your mouth in one bite to taste all the goodness. No picking at your food.

I have never really had an authentic Philly Cheesesteak. But I have a feeling this might be the upper class better version of it. With Wagyu beef, air bread, and then get this, a melted cheese- something-delicious cream inside.

On to dessert, where you can move to The Patisserie or opt to stay where you are, which we did. I had the Nitro Coconut Floating Island. Like Dub-u, Tee, Eff. Refreshing and not too sweet. And you have to puncture that ball where coconut cream goodness spills out with passion fruit vanilla. Imagine Amelie already getting a thrill out of hitting the top of creme brulee, think of the excitement she would get out of this one!

We also tried plenty of other dishes, but those were my favorite standouts.
